ART

Children have enjoyed learning about their natural world  and  enjoyed exploring the Native American lifestyle where  Mother Nature  is highly respected.

Children  have used the  digital camera to capture an image of natural items. They used zoom and telephoto  to capture images  of items  such as slugs, spiders web and the  effects of light on objects. Well done Class 2!

Chinese New Year.

Class  two  enjoyed hearing the story of the Jade Emperor and the race he established to order the Chinese calendar. They have retold the story using their own words and  have demonstrated their handwriting skills. Their work can be seen out side Mrs Cottons offfice - come and  see.

  Remember me

Children took a serious look at the impact of war and why it is important to remember those that have died in war. They have listened to poetry and acted out battles to further understand the impact that war has. They are beginning to understand that war kills and maims and is not as glamourous as the film industry make it look!Children found out about the origin of the Poppy and each child made their own.

The  Nativity  Story

Children in Class two  worked hard to retell the Nativity story in their own words. They  wrote and illustrated the story over the period of a week and  the standard of completed work  was  high with all children making extreme efforts. They  along with  Class 1 learned and performed the Nativity play 'jesus@bethlehemstable.com'  They  should be very proud of themselves -  I know I  am!

Class two took to the skies as they  flew on a magic a carpet around the world and covered the curriculum doing so.

Starting in China where they talked about rice and  watched a dragon dance. They moved onto America  where they retold the story of 'How Rabbit Stole the Fire' using narrators and  drama. Finally the children moved to Africa where they discussed the difficulties that African people have  in obtaining eye checks.

All this and a news desk reporting thier whereabouts!- Well done Class 2! I'm proud of you.
