Our work

We hope you like our wonderful display, Class 1 have been investigating our own environment. We carried out a local study of Parkside. Our investigation was to look for a variety of signs eg Road names with a focus on road safety.
We used our data handling skills to collect and record the number of vehicles that travelled along a road in a given time. We applied our ICT skills to produce graphs using 2Simple. We had fun collecting images using digital cameras, which we later placed onto a map of the area.
"Fruit and veg.... get your fruit and veg here !"

Oh what fun we have had learning about fruit and vegetables in Class 1. We know they help to keep us healthy and that we should have at least 5 a day.
During our design technology we had fun squishing the paper mache into the right shapes to make our fruit and vegetables. We were amazed to watch our squidgy fruits and vegetables harden. We talked about colour, texture and pattern as we painted our models. They looked good enough to eat, yum yum!
Special people

We began by looking at the people that are important to us in our lives. We moved on to the community in which we live and then onto the church community of St Vincent's. We learned that Niamh's Nan is a Eucharistic minister, this means that she gives out the communion to the Parishioners. There are many roles that special people play in the our parish, they include readers, musicians and altar servers. Not forgetting of course the very important role that Father Jimmy plays!
